Tasmania

Discover the untamed beauty of Tasmania, an island state brimming with natural wonders and unique experiences! From its rugged coastline and ancient rainforests to its towering mountains and pristine beaches, Tasmania offers a diverse landscape perfect for exploration.

Why We Love Tasmania

Tasmania is also a haven for wildlife, boasting an array of unique and fascinating creatures found nowhere else on Earth. Encounter the iconic Tasmanian devil, the elusive eastern quoll, and the adorable wombat in their natural habitats. Whether you’re seeking thrilling adventures or tranquil escapes, Tasmania promises an unforgettable journey for every traveler.

The Wildlife

Tasmania boasts a unique and diverse array of wildlife, with several endemic species found nowhere else in the world. The island is home to iconic marsupials like the Tasmanian devil, eastern quoll, and pademelon. It serves as a stronghold for many species that have become extinct or endangered on mainland Australia, thanks to its isolation and relatively intact habitats.

The Tasmanian wilderness also supports rare birds, including 12 endemic species and the critically endangered orange-bellied parrot, one of the world’s rarest wild birds.

The Remoteness

The landscape of Tasmania is characterized by its rugged beauty and remote wilderness areas. Covering over 1.58 million hectares, almost a quarter of the island state, the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area showcases spectacular temperate rainforests, dramatic coastlines, and ancient alpine ecosystems.

The island’s diverse ecosystems range from pristine beaches and rocky coastlines to lush forests and majestic mountain ranges, offering a unique and captivating natural environment.

The Art & History

Tasmania has gained international recognition for its art scene, particularly with the opening of the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in 2011. MONA, founded by Tasmanian millionaire and art collector David Walsh, is Australia’s largest private. The museum’s provocative collection, which includes both ancient and contemporary works, has put Tasmania on the global cultural map.

MONA’s unique architecture, carved into a sandstone cliff and largely underground, creates a labyrinthine journey through its galleries.
